We began this session by reading two of Victoria Wood's early plays, ‘Talent’ and ‘Good Fun’ but decided that perhaps we hadn't made the best choice, these we felt, not being the best examples of her work.

Following this we decided on the ever reliable Agatha Christie and as most of us had not seen the long running production of ‘The Mousetrap’, this was the play we chose and thoroughly enjoyed. We were mystified by the usual red herrings and surprised by the denouement.

Next we turned to the completely different and much more serious and thought provoking play, ‘Major Barbara’, written by George Bernard Shaw, which aroused much discussion.

As ever the library staff have made us welcome and even seem to enjoy our sometimes rather boisterous readings.

At the moment we have no vacancies but if you would like to be put on a waiting list, please let one of us know using the link above.
