Our aim is to improve our confidence in speaking, have a good chat and enjoy each other’s company over a cup of coffee and biscuits. There are 10-12 members currently in the group.
The level of our Italian conversation is intermediate. We use books and articles to stimulate our conversation and also use online learning material where activities provide us with real Italian speakers, to help improve our listening abilities. We have subscribed to Yabla.Com this year as it has a very extensive resource of videos and lessons to supplement our conversation skills and provide further learning.
Examples of Topics covered last year have been:
- The risks and impact of importing trees on biodiversity and the environment.
- Vertical Forests- an initiative started by a Milanese architect, Stefano Boeri
- “Guess my film”- Using questions and answers put to each other- like charades
- “Guess my book”- Q&As as above
- Who would I/What would I-if....?
- What hobbies or pastimes I would not like to take up.
